Climate change is now accepted threat to global security. High mass consumption of fossil fuels has increased the global warming effect. The high demand of fossil fuels is showed by industrial activities and transportation needs. For example, in big cities in Indonesia, traffic congestion are always happening every day. People have chosen their own car or motorcycle. It is more comfortable than public transportation and for the long term, it will cause air pollution getting worst. The state as an international actor should be aware of the impact of climate change. Political will may tackle the impact of climate change. Regulations to control fossil fuel emissions are a must. How to control excessive consumerism? Unfortunately, it is not easy. In the globalisation era, high mass consumption were directly effected by free trade.

Not only regulations to control fossil fuel, but also the Climate Change Act. The United Kingdom passed Climate Change Act in 2007. They perceive that climate change is a threat for national security. The greenhouse effect will create more extreme weather, flood and conflict. Drought can cause a lack of water and natural resources.

Climate change may cause a potential threat globally. The United Nations (The UN) has held many conferences to reach a mutual understanding. However, the UN has failed to compel developed countries to decrease their carbon emissions. Meanwhile, security experts have stated that potential conflict in the future will be caused by water resources. It is predicted that there will be mass migration from one country to the other country.

Climate change is a serious problem to tackles and to save human beings. It needs awareness that carbon has negative effect on nature. Beside the regulations, it also needs law enforcement to regulate carbon emissions. Why should there be a wait for a long time. Let`s follow ecofriendly lifestyle right now.
